One-of-a-Kind Ceramic Table Lamps

Vintage and Antique Pottery, Reimagined as Functional Art

Born in Amsterdam, now handcrafted in Sitges, Spain · Shipped Worldwide

At Amitābha Studio, every lamp begins as a piece of history. We search for vintage and antique ceramics that we truly fall in love with and then give them a new life as lamps. We spend an outrageous, irresponsible amount of time handcrafting each one: from obsessing over the shade color, fabric, and shape, custom-cutting the brass tops, choosing the cord, wiring the electrics, and doing deep-dive research to make sure every vintage lamp or antique lamp is authentic. The result is a small, changing collection of unique high-end table lamps that feel like found treasures rather than products. Whether it’s one of our Delft Blue lamps, a Chinoserie lamp, or a lamp from our new Spanish collection, we hope you can feel the history, the story, the care, the love in every piece and that it brings light into your home and into your life.

One Winter’s Night in Amsterdam…

One dark Amsterdam evening, we were talking with a friend about how much lighting shapes our mood — especially during long northern winters. Looking around our home, we realized we needed more light… and more beauty. But we couldn’t find any lamps that felt personal, soulful, and well made — so we decided to create our own!

That first Delft lamp lit up not just our space, but something in us. With Davide’s love of craftsmanship and Kimberly’s background in art and interior design, we found joy in the process of creation and transformation.

That one lamp sparked what became Amitābha Studio. Every lamp we make is still handcrafted by us with great care and love — a celebration of history, beauty, and light.

Vintage Spanish Ceramic Lamps

Alongside our Delft heritage, we’re branching out into the rich ceramic traditions of our new home, Spain:
Manises (Valencia), Otero Regal (Galicia), Punter (Teruel) and Al Yarrar (Granada), with Sargadelos (Galicia) and Fajalauza (Granada) to follow.
These Spanish lamps are perfect for bringing warmth and colour to Mediterranean, coastal and Spanish Revival interiors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all of your lamps made from Delft pottery?

Delft is a signature part of our collection, but not all of our lamps are made from Delft pottery. We also create vintage lamps and antique lamps from ceramic pieces across Europe — including other Dutch and Belgian makers (like Gouda and Boch Frères Keramis), plus French faïence, Italian maiolica and Spanish ceramics such as Manises and Talavera. Each lamp is crafted from carefully sourced historic ceramics and rebuilt as a long-lasting ceramic lamp.

Are your lamps wired safely for my country’s plug and voltage?

Yes. Even though many of our pieces begin life as antique or vintage lamps, every Amitābha Studio lamp is rewired with new, tested components. Unless otherwise noted, all of our lamps are fitted with an E27 bulb fitting, compatible with both E27 bulbs (used in Europe) and E26 bulbs (used in the US). We also offer free plug customisation to match your country’s electrical standards. All components meet European safety guidelines and are CE-compliant.

Do you sell lamp shades for table lamps?

Yes — we offer limited edition pleated lampshades designed for table lamps available in vintage silk. We also have Ikat lampshades that we’ve specifically paired with our lamps. Browse our lampshades.

Can I request a custom lamp configuration?

Most lamps are sold as-is, but we do offer bespoke design services for special projects. If you have a particular vision in mind, feel free to reach out — we’re always open to creative collaborations.

Do you make chinoiserie, coastal, or maximalist lamps?

Many of our Delft and blue-and-white pieces read as the perfect chinoiserie lamp, and others make effortless coastal lamps or grandmillennial-style lamps. We often style our more colourful unique table lamps in maximalist and dopamine-decor interiors. For inspiration and examples, explore the style guides in our journal.

Do you offer trade discounts for interior designers?

Yes — we love working with interior designers and stylists. If you’re sourcing pieces for a project or interested in a specific lamp, get in touch — we’d be delighted to support your work.

Are your lamps truly one-of-a-kind?

Yes — every lamp is unique. We work with individual historic ceramics, so each piece becomes a one-off unique table lamp. Once a lamp is sold, it’s gone for good, which is part of what makes our unique lamps feel so special. Curious about our process? You can explore how we craft each lamp in our studio journal.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we offer worldwide shipping including to the US and the UK. All lamps are securely packed and shipped with tracking and insurance. We provide different shipping options depending on how quickly you’d like your lamp to arrive. These are shown at checkout, and we’re always happy to help with any questions.

What are the best lamps for a living room?

It depends on the size and layout of your space, but as a general guide we suggest choosing lamps for the living room that stand around 60–80 cm tall for ambient light. A pair of table lamps at this height frames a sofa or sideboard beautifully; for reading, you can always add a brighter task bulb. Many of our vintage table lamps and antique lamps sit in this range — explore those collections if you’re not sure where to start.
